$2.1billion arms deal: Tunde Bakare calls for the sack of CBN Governor

Popular and controversial Lagos pastor, Tunde Bakare who was the running mate of  President Buhari in the 2011 presidential election, has called for the sack of the Central Bank of Nigeria governor, Godwin Emefiele for his alleged role in the disbursement of the $2.1 billion arms deal fraud.

Tunde Bakare made this appeal during his state of the nation address yesterday January 10th. He said;

"The CBN currently contributes negatively to the Nigerian state in more ways than one. Firstly, the CBN has become a conduit for politicians to drain the nation. Otherwise, how can a letter of barely two paragraphs, addressed to the current CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, by the then NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.), become the authority to incur expenditure leading to cash flow of $37m and several million euros? In decent climes, the CBN governor cannot continue in office while the NSA is accounting for his alleged offences” he said.
"Without restructuring, this administration may achieve little or no significant and sustainable success" he said
Bakare added that his love for Nigeria has propelled him to always speak out and that all he has ever done for any government was without any monetary value or any gift that could mar his character
"Let me state for prosterity under God that I am not an agent of any individual and up till today, whatever I have done for any government, past or present, publicly or behind the scene I have done pro-bono. Never collected money from anyone nor any serious gift that could mar our character"he said
